I think "internet" is accepted filipino term for internet. The Philippines' national language, Filipino, though based largely on Tagalog, is a composite of many other different languages, and as such, has adapted many foreign words that are in popular usage in the Philippines to be Filipino. Examples of this would include words like "hotdog," "computer," and "print/er" when referring to computer prints and printers. It would seem ridiculous if one would now invent Filipino translations of these words when their English equivalents are already widely and more popularly used by the majority of the people. I suppose internet would fall into this category of words that have been already adapted as Filipino.
