have you called the filipino consulate? and why can’t your mother teach you she’ll teach you the dialect that she speaks
1. i suggest that you ask someone to teach you and pay him/ her for tutorials. there are many who would really need cash and willing to teach, especially the ones that are going to go home soon because their visa is going to expire real soon.
the type of learning or set up, i think, is called e-learning.
just suggesting.
2. access english-filipino dictionaries or webpages like:
http://tagalog1.com/
3. go to yahoo chat rooms and go to the regional folder, then to Philippines folder where all the list of Filipino chat rooms are. There are lots of Filipinos who would be ever so willing to help you. Some though might teach you because they probably want to include romance in it. But there are some who would teach your free.
4. you can also go to http://www.learntagalognow.com
5. i can try to teach you for free but on my spare time only because i am working.
hope this helps. good luck.
btw, there is a quote of gandhi that says you cannot change the world, so be the change that you want to see in the world.
if there are no tagalog schools yet there, maybe you are destined to be the one to initiate or put up a small business just like that.
