When i get nervous giving a presentation, i talk in a Filipino accent. why is that?
i am filipino and i was born in America and i usually don't have an accent.

I do the same thing, not with presentations though. When i’m with certain groups of people. when i lived in Florida there were a lot of hispanics and when i would talk to them i would talk fast and kinda like them. now that i live in New Jersey again, the accents are different. so i start to talk like i have a jersey accent (kinda like a new york one) but when i’m visiting family in south jersey it’s a whole different type of accent (kinda like a philly accent) so i start to pick up words and accents from them when i’m hanging with them. it’s wierd but it’s like your way of talking adapts to your surroundings.
Happens to many people.
I mean sometimes I would speak unclear English because I get nervous. It’s because we get so nervous that our volume lowers and we shake more. So it is harder for others to hear us.
yeah, it’s weird because I grew up in america so I don’t have an accent but when i’m with my FOB (fresh off the boat) freinds, for some reason i talk like a FOB….
