What’s the best way to learn a language, specifically tagalog(filipino)?

   It is really sad most if not all Filipino parents living in another country rarely teach their children the Filipino languange and worst the culture. For this reason, Filipinos easily blend in foreign cultures unlike Chinese and other Asian nationalities. Best way to learn is to FORCE your parents to teach you Tagalog and tell them they should not be ashamed of their culture. Speak Tagalog at home as often as you can and watch Filipino movies or shows. Chat with Filipinos online.

   Honestly the best way is to immerse yourself into people that speak it daily in their lives just as you learned when you were a baby.

   Sure you are going to make mistakes and need to ask over and over what is being said. That is the way we learned as children. That is the best way to learn anything is by doing.

   Barring that many people have had good results with learning in classroom environments or with interactive software.
