What language is spoken on the island of Leyte in the Philippines? Tagalog or Cebuano?
My great-grandfather was from Leyte and I'm interested in learning the language at some point. Unfortunately, he passed away when I was little, so I never got the opportunity to learn about my heritage from him.

Leyte is in the Visayas area. The natives there speak Cebuano. In Tacloban (the capital city of Leyte), they also speak waray. I’m not sure if there are other dialects.
