What is the significance of pulutan to Filipino culture?
I'm talking sisig, mani, pork barbeque, etc. How are they important to Philippine culture? Answers may, but don't have to, be related to drinking, alcohol and beer.

Especially that pulutan occurs in drinking session, but usually, pulutan is associated with drunkenness.
Perhaps largely because while in drinking session, though not required, people tends to talk and chat. Then pulutan comes next. On the same hand, drinking implicitly is no good to a stomach, so "something" that may interact with the drinks is greatly appreciated. Note that pulutan’s etymology was that the word came from "pulot" which means to pick, and usually, pulutan is taken with bare hands.
