Bilang
-1. "number" (math)

———What is second even number?
-2. "count"
—-Kumusta na ba ang bilangan ng boto?
———How’s the vote count now?
-3. "as"/"for" (not benefitive ‘for’)

———[S]He’ll be running for counselor
—-Si Gloria Romero bilang si Kurdapya.
———Gloria Romero as Kurdapya.
count (related to numbers)
Depending on the context, it might mean two things.
1. Count – "Pang-ilang bilang na sa Countdown bago sumabog ang shuttle?" (What was the count when the shuttle exploded?)
2. As – "Tumayo siya bilang Presidente nang magkasakit si Reagan."
(He stood as President when Reagan got sick.)
Added: A better example of the word for count is:
"Pag bilang ko nang tatlo, humanda ka na at bubunutin ko ang palaso sa iyong dibdib." (When I count to three, get ready for I shall pull out the arrow from your breast.)
"One! <And suddenly pulls it out!>
Count(numbers) and As
count
It means "Count"
Example 1…2…3…
Example in Tagalog: Isa…Dalawa…Tatlo…
1. Count: Bilang
–Nagbilang: counted
–Magbilang: to count
–Magbibilang: will count
–Nangagbibilang: counting (lots of people)
Example: Magbilang ka ng pera mo: Count you of money you (Count your money)
2. To be likened to; To be; As: Bilang
Example: Gumanap sa isang teatro si Lorenzo: Been in one theater-play is Lawrence (Lawrence has been part of a theatrical play).
"count"
"Bilang", when used in a sentence has other meaning….
1. Bilang isang mabuting mag-aaral, ikaw ay gagantipalaan ko ng isang libreng merienda…. Being one of the best students, I will award you with a free snack.
2. Ako ay bilang ika-30 (tatlumpo) sa mga naunang dumating ngayon….. I am number 30 among the first to arrive today.
numero, kaanib
I agree with the other answerers. But any word in Tagalog, just like in English might means several things, depending upon how it is used.
If you can use it in a sentence, then you would get a specific & definite answer.
it depends on that way the sentence is constructed…
it could be:
bilang, as in "number"…
bilang, as in "as"…
