I really want to learn Tagalog, my family speaks in both tagalog and bisaya and when I'm around they speak in English. I never understand a word they say when they speak in tagalog since I wasn't taught that as a child like they were. I can use google translate but I'm not sure if that's in tagalog since it just says filipino, I could also use a English/Tagalog dictionary but I can't learn the grammar so I can't structure my sentences. I can't ask my family since I don't talk to them frequently (perhaps twice a week) and they live 14 hours away by plane.
Where can I learn tagalog without paying for a tutor.

I've always been fascinated by the cultures of our archipelago. My dad is from Mindanao, speaking the Mindanao dialect of Bisaya, and my mom is from Palawan, speaking Cuyunin. I'm also a student of political science, mainly interested in Philippine politics, and I find the imposition of Tagalog as the national Filipino language absurd. This is not to say that I think Bisaya ought to be the national language; I just feel that the national tongue ought to know how to speak all or at least most of the languages spoken in the territory concerned.
I love languages and learn them really quickly. It'd be great if you guys can refer me to a tutor (preferably not expensive) or at least to books I can study
Thanks!
Okay so like I might move to the Philippines for the first time and go to school there ( sadly I won't have a summer vacation. Hehe.) but like I don't know that much tagalog i mean i can understand it and stuff but I can't really speak it. I can talk Tagalog a little bit but not as much. I guess thats what you get when you're born in america. hahah. but like can you guys help me find a site or tutor me please. I'm up for anything. But I think a website is more helpful cause then sometimes people can be fake and they're not who you think they are. So please help me. Please?
We are American missionaries in Baguio City and we need to find some one who can teach us the Filipino and possibly Ilocano language. If you know of someone or of a website that can lead us to one that would really help us.
Also I just wanted to add that we need a tutor that is professional(preferably with a language teaching degree) and has taught these languages before, we had a tutor before in Mindadnao and it didn't work out because they didn't know really how to teach the language, they just basically knew it pretty well, Thanks
I recently moved from the USA to the Philippines. I am currently 14 years old and attending 2nd year public high school. Though I attend a 1st year Filipino class as well as having a tutor. How long and difficult will it be to learn the language here?
So after I'm done learning Tagalog, how long will it take for me to learn a regional language such as Ilocano (my mom's decent) or Hilagayon (my dad's decent?
i can be your tutor. Tagalog is the Filipino language while Cebuano is the language in most of the Visayan provinces. I can teach you how to speak some tagalog or cebuano languages.
