Can someone please translate to me this from Filipino ?
"kumusta naman ang flirt na yun?"
It was said in a teasing way (but joking) and i want to know what exactly does it mean in English.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you !
The Filipino boxer's English is too good to be true. Everybody in the Phils. knows Filipino boxers barely graduate high school and has a shitty English....the "allegedly" Filipino boxer also mentioned Pacman injects it in his UPPER QUADRANT. Haha. No Filipino boxer would know that medically specific term, least to speak a decent English. Even native speakers would not typically use "upper quadrant" in a statement as most don't know what that means....it's obviously to make that bogus rumor believable. LOL.
Assuming it's translated....the translated version still would hardly equate a Filipino language version without changing much of the English version the way it was delivered. LOL.

I have bought several products like Pimsleur and Living Language Cd's to learn Tagalog. The dialogues they teach and you learn are not at all how the Pinoy people talk or expect you to talk to them. I was feeling proud about learning some chapters and said some words to my wife who is Pinoy and I insulted her by only starting a sentence with "Hoy" which is "Hey" which I found is very disrespectful. Again, does anyone know a good software for Tagalog that teaches the proper language with a little culture also.
how do i say in tagalog ,
"i'm not doing anything here except school...im on facebook chat sometimes but not all day..we should talk to eachother on chat soon." .........
(im trying to get this boy to like me from school and he speaks tagalog, so i want to impress him by replying back to him on facebook in tagalog)
It's not just pronunciation either, because ive met american filipinos who grew up here and can pronounce their "F's" but they choose to say Pilipino...
Thanks! ![]()
People tell me that Tagalog/Filipino language sounds as if it were the Chinese of Southeast Asia, meaning it sounds kinda like Chinese, but for SE Asia. I sorta understand what they mean though, because the "aw" in a word is pronounced "ao", and "ay" in a word is pronounced "ai" (like the word laway. (pronounced LAO-WAI)) It was even mistaken for Japanese once or twice (it happened to me before, don't know about others.) For example, it has the "ah" sounds, "ai" sounds, "eh" sounds, & "oh" sounds. I dunno though, what do you think? I completely disagree with those statements that it sounds Spanish. In my opinion, that's only because of the different Spanish vocab. If anything, we have more Chinese vocabulary/Chinese sounding words then Spanish (we have words originating from Hokkien, Fujianese, Cantonese, etc.) I don't know though. What do you think? Does Tagalog/Filipino=Chinese of Southeast Asia, or sound similar to Chinese/Japanese? Please help! ![]()

Does anyone know what "TNT" stands for?
I know it's an acronym for something.
#17. You make acronyms for phrases: 'OA' = overacting, 'DOM' = dirty old man, and 'TNT' for... You know.

Minamasdan kita
Nang hindi mo alam
Pinapangarap kong ikaw ay akin
Mapupulang labi
At matinkad mong ngiti
Umaabot hanggang sa langit
Huwag ka lang titingin sa akin
At baka matunaw ang puso kong sabik
[Chorus]
Sa iyong ngiti ako'y nahuhumaling
At sa tuwing ikaw ay gagalaw
Ang mundo ko'y tumitigil
Para lang sayo
Ang awit ng aking puso
Sana'y mapansin mo rin
Ang lihim kong pagtingin
Minamahal kita ng di mo alam
Huwag ka sanang magagalit
Tinamaan yata talaga ang aking puso
Na dati akala ko'y manhid
Hindi pa rin makalapit
Inuunahan ng kaba sa aking dibdib
[Chorus]
Hi,
The "me" in this conversation actually isn't me. It's my girlfriend. Since we "trust" each other so much, I let her go on my Facebook account, and she gets to go on mine.
She's a very selfish and immature person. We've been going out for a while, and I just don't feel like I'm everything to her like she is to me. She even gets upset at people for asking her to put her dirty cups into the sink. She moved here a few years ago, but she only has two friends here: Me, her boyfriend, and another guy. Neither of us speak Tagalog. She's always talking about how much she misses the Philippines and her friends.
This conversation has time stamps. I was on Facebook that whole time and she didn't even notice me. I sent her some texts, but she didn't reply to them. Then, when I went to talk to her on Facebook, she was already logged off. You can see that I logged onto her account at 12:57.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could translate this for me. Chris is one of her "friends" in the Philippines who likes her.
Thank you in advance for your help.
PS: I'm trying to learn Tagalog for her. I've asked her to teach me, but she always thinks of it as an inconvenience to teach me and never does. The only way I can learn, I guess, is to purchase the Rosetta Stone software on it, which is really a shame considering my bleeping girlfriend could teach it to me for free.

I have an LG C2000 (about a year and a half old), and i get three languages (english, french, and spanish). I am learning another language (tagalog) and want to chat on my cell phone, using yahoo chat, with the "t9 fill word function" in that language.
I have spoken to both the phone manufacterer (LG, of course) and my service provider (AT&T) and neither can help with any additional software. In the next couple of months i will be upgrading my phone, but i would like to practice in chat with this other language before that.
Does anybody have some helpful advice of where to to try to find my solution? (The best answer will likely be in enlightening me on a source for a download to my phone that will add the t9 language of tagalog, and until now is likely to be the only answer, but i am open).
To be a bit more precise in my explanation... I intended to say i already will be upgrading to ANOTHER phone. I am looking to solve it until i do so.
Rosetta Stone is actually already the way i am learning Tagalog. I happen to have a tagalog friend in yahoo chat and just want to add my communication with her as an additional way for practice. But thanks levitate15, for the extra confirmation on language learning selections...
"Ako ito"
Thanks to all in advance.
I'm Irish and Filipino the Irish does not show much even know i'm half and half....... Me and my friends were talking trash on each other and my one friends was like "Tony acts like he's the s**t cuz he is the tallest Filipino ever " lol. We were all joking, and than it really had me thinking there is not one person on my my Philippine side that is taller than me. Let alone of any Filipino guys that I know. I'm 6'0, I wanted to know what the average height of the Filipino man is. Thanks
I have a Co-Worker who doesn't consider other peoples opinion but who likes to consider hers even if her opinions suck and are veiled with errors. I don't like her, she's so arrogant and she thinks that she knows everything and when it comes to our written reports, she always inspects what I've done and when she sees something that she doesn't like, she gets mad and then tries to change everything. I don't know what to do with this "Fucking Visayan Filipino LOSER", and plus she's really starting to get on my nerves, she thinks she's so smart but when it comes to VOCABULARY, her brain is as small as an ant, and not to mention if she doesn't have any clue about anything that's got something to do with the task, she always resort to my help, I hate people like her. So tell me, what would you do if you PRETTY MUCH encounter "ONE OF THE PHYSICAL EMBODIMENTS OF EVERYTHING THAT YOU LOATHE? What would you do in this kind of situation? Should I just listen to her stupid opinions and nod?
Or "Filipino"
I only know a little bit..
(konte? lang)
I understand it..just i don't know how to fluently speak it.
What can I do to learn tagalog and speak somewhat fluently by oh...couple of months ?
At school its a little bit hard. Not many people can speak tagalog. So yeah..
Any help is appreciated.
Salamat po
haha.
Well my name is Samantha, I am hispanic/asian(cuban/filippino) well i was able to get a chance to talk to my uncle in the philippines through IM but he has a hard type typing in english, I really want to learn tagalog, is there any site or cd i can buy which would help me learn? My mother dosent have any time to teach me I only know simple words in tagalog like like Yes, No, Body Parts(like eyes, or nose), I love you, Why, and The questions "What do you want to eat?" and "What do you want to drink?" Where can I learn more? I really want to be able to talk to him in tagalog so he feels more comfortable, and dosent have to struggle with words in english. Please help, and thank you.
cause if it is thats weird. isnt suppose to be ' i speak tagalog " not filipino ? cause you cant speak filipino , you CAN be filipino tho . am i right ? cause i always hear ppl ask these questions " what language do you speak ?" then there reply is " i speak filipino "
and is filipino a culture ? or a ethnic group ? basically what does filipino mean to you ?
Can someone give me a declamation piece by a filipino author written in english other than "I am a filipino"?
Need help! getting tiresome of being looked at like a dollar sign cause being unable to speak tagalog already know quite a few bad words and such so if its towards me or around i know what they mean but the rest is way to hard...translators online are horrible and not really reliable per-say and waray-waray speaking is making it harder to learn learning more expressions and such from the main base language but not the dialect language >.>
With the whole emphasizing the "r" heavily in waray but tagalog dont see any of that one bit any kind of help is needed! Very determined to be semi fluent or try to be fluent in tagalog! >.<
"isulat sa tubig" (write it on water) - to forget something forever (e.g., a debt you had no intention of paying ever)
"tatlo ang mata" (3-eyed person) - a fault-finder, a cynical person
"maputi ang tainga" (white-eared person) - miser, scrooge
Please share with us some of the Tagalog idioms you know. Don't forget to include its literal translation and of course, what it really means. Thank you.
Oh, please don't cut and paste the entire web page too....LOL

Will you please translate the following sentences into English? Some of them already have a little bit of English mixed into them, and some of them might be in a form of shorthand that you may have to decipher, also. Thanks, if so.
saan kyo nag meet?? buti ka pa... Does this mean, "Where whill you meet? You're (something) kind"?

Now does anyone know the other parts?
I may have spelled it wrong... sounds like "ah nu bah". I work with a lot of Filipinos, and I'm too embarrassed to ask, but that's one of the phrases I hear a LOT, especially among the girls when someone's teasing them.
And is there a good source for looking up phrases, pronunciation, and grammar? Thanks in advance.

Have you ever found a Chinese trying to learn Mandarin or Fookien language? Even if so they are in the US or any where in the world for that matter. All Chinese knows their language esp. their own culture and tradition. In every Chinese movies I had seen they portrait that every Chinese from the time they were small and to the time of their adulthood must realize that they are Chinese esp. this Chinese character letter writing, it is in the stroke of the fingers that made every letters astonishing. If I am a Chinese I would be more proud being Chinese than Filipino. Don't you think? The Chinese are the first OFW for me that is, because they are the very first Asian who made it to California and work for the rail way station in the US in 18th century. Do you think meron ng Pinoy nun 18th century working for the US rail station? There is a program in TFC that is "Filipino ka, sabihin mo" portion that teaches Filipino overseas who doesn't speak Tagalog words, and they call it PILIPINO TIME. Like shy is torpe, cloud is ulap so on and so forth. Parang natuturo sa mga elementary pupils for Filipino class. Do we have to be like this? I mean let us assume one is born and raise in the US bakit hindi sya marunong kahit katiting na Pilipino language, isn't this odd. One of the parents is a pinoy so what is the problem there? If both parents are German I guess Pilipino language is out of the question or mayayabang lang talaga ang pinoy sa US at laging spokening in dollars ang gusto at pag nag Tagalog they want everybody to listen to their pronounciation. What a crap. Kaya nga tanong ko uli, meron ka na bang nakita or nakilalang Chinese who cannot speak Mandarin or Fookien? Ako wala kayo kaya meron?

salamat sa pagsagot....
If you don't, here are some words and sentences
Good Morning - Magandang Umaga
Good Evening - Magandang Gabi
How are you ? - Kumusta ka na?
Thank you - Salamat
You're beautiful - Maganda ka
I love you - Mahal kita
Goodbye - Paalam
Goodbye to you my friend - Paalam sa iyo kaibigan
Can you help me? - Maaari mo ba akong tulungan?
E-mail me if you have some more English sentences to translate.
=)
Translate love letters? Sure !
About the " I Love You '' , if I is ako and You is ikaw, it becomes ''Ako mahal Ikaw'', it doesn't sound right. Therefore ''I love you'' is ''Mahal kita" and kita means you too
I want to ask someone (in Tagalog) who speaks Tagalog how to say a particular English word or phrase in Tagalog. In Spanish this would be something like, "Como se dice en Espanol...car?" and they would say, "coche" or "kotse".
