"Right now I'm at home watching tv, lol. Were are you jess?"

i want to learn tagalog, whats the best way to learn? i live in U.S
if i study in the philippines for one year
will that make me speak the lang.?
Inday: I GOT NO PINOY FRIENDS
theyre all NON-Filipino LOL

I am only half-filipino,born in California and raised in Mississippi..lol.. but that does not mean that I do not want to get in touch with my Filipino side. I speak english, and i took 4 years of Spanish (but forgot all the words... lol). I am going to visit the P.I. for the first time next year, so i want to learn some Tagalog. Not just to learn tagalog for my visit, but i will keep trying to learn it after, too. i am dedicated to become fluent in it.. is there anyway suggestions?
yea, i am going in feb. march. or april.. lol

I'm fluent in Tagalog; however, I am also interested in other Filipino dialects. Which one would be the most practical and useful to learn next to Tagalog?
Not my usual Q's, but I'm dead serious about this and I'm up for the task. lol =)
@ Denixce P. Vanity
Yes there are. Though a suggestion would've sufficed =)
@ Bondying:
Nicoleta, is that you?
or GRO? lol
