I don't speak much tagalog, but I'm learning. Last year I recorded "Buong Buhay Ko" by learning it phonetically... my filipino friends said I did pretty well. Now I'd like to learn another especially for my gf, so I can sing it to her when I visit the philz this Fall.. Does anyone have a suggestion for a song that expresses my appreciation of her? I don't want anything too deep (we're in a new relationship.. I don't want to scare her by saying anything too emo.. lolz). I'd also hope to find printed lyrics and a translation, so any help is appreciated!
what does this mean:
Askal!
thank you very much
In the second chapter, there is a poem by Isagani which was recited by Basilio. It was about the steam engine. I couldn't find it in my book.
Please can someone translate into english these following 10 sentences? It's from a friend's essay. It's a long story as to why I need the translation, but if someone who is fluent in tagalog/filipino could please do so, I will love you forever!!
"lou, diay nakapuraw ti kurkursunadan sa diay anak ko but i am not sure. ha-an na nga ibaga..makaunget nu saludsudek."
and
Edit:
yeah, I just got this earlier this morning.
I have no idea why she would send me something like this. It just makes this interesting.
1 : - d ako nakikipag lokohan sayo noh ?
2 : - ayaw ko sa lahat yung cnungaling ?
thanks
Why is that we, Filipinos, are not using our very own language in every different situations, such senate hearings, public speeches, forums, seminars, Q&A in every prestigious pageants here in the Philippines. Also in written format such as our leading newspapers here in the Philippines, books, signs (warning signs, traffic signs, slogans, announcements and ads). What's the sense of all of these if the one who read and listen to these are Filipinos? I know that English is very well known and spoken languages in this era, but are we gonna let other people vanish our very own language?
I am very confused right now, this questions always keep popping out in my mind everyday. SOMEONE HELP ME?
Someone sent this to me, but I don't understand filipino language, could someone translate it?
That's all wrong, says the person who sent it to me...
I do not speak tagalog. But I am half filipino.
Thank you for any help.
mayroong ko TFC, TFC subscriber ako ehh. Anyways, I don't always understand all the tagalog words, naintindihan ko maraming magsalita, pero, I cannot catch all of it. I always watch this one telenovela with anne curtis and Sam Milby, Natatawa ako si Sam ksi he is an english speaker and when he speaks in tagalog, it sort of reminds me of myself. It doesn't right, but I think I can speak it without having that american accent, napapraktis ako so hindi naman marinig akong accent. I wish TFC had english captions, cuz that would help tremendously. Its hard to catch everything. anyways, does it help if i watch the show and then keep asking for the translation of the words? I sound desparate, cuz i am, i need help talaga. Natatakot ko, when I return back to pinas, I cant speak tagalog yet. wawa naman ako. I want to speak tagalog talaga. and understand everything. I need to bond with my relatives
To let you guys know, im 23, and I dont live with my parents, so please dont tell me to practice with my parents.
no, my parents spoke to me in inglish and tagalog, I think most of the time it was english?? EWAN, basta, somehow I didn't pick it up. It's the same with my fil-am friends, they didn't pick up the language like me even though they were rasied in a traditional filipino home. But gusto ko magtuto.
i am a native filipino but i can't speak my own language

I know that the main language in the Philippines is tagalog and is widely taught around but shouldnt tagalog speaking pinoys learn other dialects like visaya?
Most visayas and other different dialect speaking pinoys can speak tagalog fluently but tagalog speaking pinoys can't speak other dialects.Almost 2/3 of people in the Philippines can speak up to 2 dialects or 3 even.
Aren't the tagalog speak pinoys are at disadvantage?
P.s Im a pinoy too, alam ko mg tagalog lol
"Haan ang ayam-ayam puso ko. Ang kiyat siksika, ngem sika kiyat sabali ang babai. Ang rigat."

I'm writing a song based on my interpretation of the heroe's last poem. The music is in place, as well as my own interpretation of each of the 14 passages of the pentameter, though I patterned after Bonifacio's 4 by 12 syllables. But I am confounded by the best way to say it in Pilipino.
I have studied the works of Gatmaitan, Joaquin, etc. but I just can't find the phrase with "perfect certainty".
Can you please try to help me out on this?
Thanks, Allan.
I just found how to. It's the Add Details button I'm looking for.
Ok, Folks out there. I need a single line of 12 syllables in Tagalog/Pilipino (if strictly Tagalog, the better), e.g.,
Sa dilang lungkot ko'y kalungkot-lungkutan
Or
Sa madlang hapis ko, aking kalungkutan
It must end in "an".
Thanks.
It is my opinion that it's not simple to find a person who has the patience to teach a stupid and irritating student how to speak Tagalog.

I really appreciate if anybody from the Philippine can help me to translate the tagalog language into english...
Hindi ako umaasa na kami in the end. Minsan, doubt ako sa kanya pero pag tinimbang ko naman yung mga ginawa nya just to see me mukha naman seryoso nga saka hindi bastos both in words and in action.
