It should be the main language. Learning another language (Spanish, English or Japanese) as a second language would be helpful.
its called tagalog
yes
No. I think that it would be quite tough to translate some English words into Filipino especially scientific terms and mathematicial theories and theorems.
TAGALOG
definitely not… one ‘filipino’ language taught in school should be in enough! Tagalog shouldnt even be the ‘filipino’ language! (tagalog mind you because for me thats what the so-called ‘filipino’ language is… people forget that there are other dialects in the philippines so why should tagalog be the ‘filipino’ language?!)
its atrocious how bad the filipinos are becoming in english! I wanted to jump out the window of the 4 story flat i live in (im on the third floor) when i read their essays! gawd! how can a freshmen in college spell ‘beautiful’ as beutiful not just once, but many times?!!!
sorry im digressing, anyway, again- ‘filipino’ SHOULD NOT be the medium in the philippines!
Tagalog and English are the main languages in the Philippines
For educational purposes, English must be the medium for teaching, ofcourse except for the subject Filipino.
I am here in Dubai for nearly 5 years. I have interacted with many nationalities.
Filipinos have great advantage from other nationalities, especially Arabs, Russians and other East European countries( not to mention other third world countries)for being an English speaking citizens.
Because Filipinos are trained in English from the young age, it give us a big edge and made us competetive internationally.
Besides, English speaking people can find job easily.
i, too, am confused. should i teach my 4-year old daughter words in english or tagalog? for financial reason, my daughter is going to a daycare run by the community people meaning monthly fee isn’t as expensive as going to some private daycares. at home, we try to talk to our daughter in mixed languages. intersperse english here and there in our tagalog conversation. but when she goes to school, the teacher talks to them in tagalog. like the other day they are discussing about colors. while the others keep yelling "pula", my little girl keeps saying no, it’s red. can a child be confused if we teach something in two’s. "yes, it’s called this , but it can also be called this".
my apologies for answering your question with a question.
