My girlfriend is Filipino, what are some good phrases I could learn to impress her?
I really just want to show her that I am interested in her culture.
Bhuwisit, I came here first for advice. I plan on learning as much as I can. These are not things I plan to cut and paste anywhere, I want to speak them correctly to her. I have been all over the internet trying to learn things. I am sorry I asked a question. Please excuse me for my ignorance.

I am glad u asked that question. I saw the replies and i also copied some down. haha.
Just dont tell her Wala ng pera (I dont have any money haha.
maha an kita. (think i spelt it wrong)
it means i love you
if you want to learn other stuff get a book from english to tagalog
Budget Baby.
Mahal Kita – is "I love you" in Tagalog.
Many people here can help you with other phrases to say. Or you can always ask them to translate something you want to say from English to Tagalog or even her native language as there are so many dialects in the Philippines.
It also doesn’t hurt to search online for reference sites that help with language, culture and customs. I think by studying and reading about their culture will impress her much more then just copying and pasting text translated for you to tell her. Learning all about her country, ways of life, and all those things usually shows that you are more serious about her and her culture then if you just say a few sweet words in her language.
A few helpful sites:
http://www.seasite.niu.edu/Tagalog/love.htm
http://www.tagalog-dictionary.com/
"mahal na mahal kita" (i love you so much)
"ikaw lang ang nasa puso ko" (you’re the only one in my heart)
This is a bad one:
Mag-kantutan tayo
( Let’s have sex )
Dont Listen to Junya Kobe’s Phrases, those are insulting ones
Here are some moderm pharses you can tell her
Mahal na Mahal kita – I love you very much
Ang ganda mo nga-yon – you look stunning today
Ang Cute mo nga-yon – you look cute today
May regalo ako sa iyo – I have a gift for you
Ok ba Tagalog ko? – Is my Tagalog ok?
Manood Tayo ng Wow-wow-wee – Lets watch Wowowee
( a popular TV show in the philippines that caters to fil-ams )
Gusto ko makita Filipinas – I want to see/visit the Philippines.
Try this:
"Gagamitin lang kita. Pag sawa na ako sa ‘yo, iiwanan lang kitang buntis sa tabi ng daan."
True statement applicable for the foreseeable future.
If you’re really interested in her culture, why don’t you about it in more serious and committed ways such as through formal classes and attending cultural events–not from learning cheesy one-liners through the Internet.
No, for me its okay I ca help you with that. I am a Filipina and a teacher back there. I came here last year and one way to impress a Filipina is to learn the sweet expressions. Ill write them in Filipino and goes with English meaning ok?! Don’t worry Im married with a lucky and gwapo guy!
Tagalog English
Ikaw ang lahat sa akin= You are everything to me!
Mahal na mahal kita= I love you so much
Lagi ka nasa isip at puso ko= Your always in my mind and heart
Ikaw ang pinakamagandang babae na nakilala ko= You are the most beautiful woman I ever know.
Gagawin ko lahat mapasaya lang kita mahal ko= Ill do everything just to make you happy, my love!

Most women don’t like men who likes to brag and learned compliments can quickly turn sour. Just try to have a good time and a good laugh in the right moment, it can make that moment unforgettable. Know her well and knowing yourself, then, things, in most cases, will work out by itself. Real love knows no rich, nor poor, nor reason. If you are both in love with each other, words are not needed and time doesn’t exist. That is the magic of it.
ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH TO BE IN LOVE? Just joking.
There’s a huge difference between language and culture. Even in the Philippines there’s no Filipino culture that’s common to all Filipinos.
It’s a nation of 10,000+ islands with dozens of languages and diverse religious faiths. Taste in food varies widely. What’s considered disgusting in Cebu might be a family favorite in Ilocos.
You being 100% honest will impress her more than anything else. Pinays hate BS artists.
Another thing, don’t try playing Santa Claus. An incredible number of guys meet a lady from the Philippines on the Internet and set out to save her, save her family, save her poor old granny who needs a hernia operation, etc…
