Yes, it is a very pleasant and melodic language. If you listen to Philippinos speaking you will think that they are singing a song rather than just having an ordinary conversation. I am not a Philippino but I have a cousin who married to a Philippina, so I learned a little bit of Tagalog from her.

I speak tagalog and peopel say that it sounds chinese, i say they’re stupid because anything that doesn’t sound english to them sounds chinese
Tagalog sounds like Italian with half the vowels. It’s very labial (lots of m, p, b) and has few guttural sounds (English and Germanic sounds). That’s not surprising considering that it’s a mix of Malay-derived languages mixed with some Spanish.
