Is it hard to learn Tagalog?
I've been living in Hawaii for 12 years now.I am fluent in speaking Ilocano and I can understand a little bit of Tagalog.I am mostly Filipino and have a bit of Spanish blood.I am also planning on attending a college in the Philippines. What is your opinion on learning Tagalog?
What I hate about the language is that my family and relatives always use it when they're talking about me.

I think it will be easy for you since you can speak Ilocano. Though tagalog and ilokano is different, chances pronounciation may be a lot easier for you. once you’re here and exposed to tagalog, it will be much easier to learn.
Madali lang magsalita ng Tagalog, gusto mo turuan kita? (Translation: It’s easy to learn Tagalog, and I can teach you if you want ^^)
Its easy to learn. Exposure is the best teacher. If you plan to study in the Philippines, you’ll learn soon enough.
learning tagalog is very easy just like learning english…
its much easier than any language…
im really sure of that …
its will take a least 1 months ..
you are now a filipino proud…
It’s not as hard as it seems. Just practice heaps and really try your best and you’ll get it eventually. One day I’m sure you can surprise your fam. It’s a great language to learn though
Madali lang.
if you are not familiar in tagalog speech you will be hard to learn!!!!!
if you put you heart into it.;)
i’m sure it’ll be easy for you. tagalog is just a simple lingo. and i’m sure,if you go to the philos for college, you’ll easily adapt into the language there, since no one uses PURE tagalog. am i right?
try and start practicing tagalog with your relatives so you already have a bit of a background with it.;)
g’luck.
Very easy. You pronounce it as you read it. Words are well-syllabicated so they are very easy to pronounce. There are also prefixes and suffixes similar to english. There is also syntax and sentence patterns simliar to english (S-LV-PN, remember?).
You just need to train your tongue to pronounce, the rest will follow. The best way to learn is to converse with it. So hang out with your filipino friends and family a lot.
its not so hard because the letters are the same except for 2 letters but that’s easy to remember.
you just have to remember to say the word how its spelled. no long vowel sounds or silent letters.
it just takes practice and since you here it everyday, you prolly understand it anyway, you just have to practice it
it’ll be pretty easy, especially since a lot speak in taglish and not pure tagalog. so just speak english and interject a few words in tagalog. hahaha.
but seriously, just know when to use ‘ano’, ‘ng’, ‘ba’ , ‘yung’ and you’ll almost be perfect in taglish.
