I want to speak Tagalog!?
I am only half-filipino,born in California and raised in Mississippi..lol.. but that does not mean that I do not want to get in touch with my Filipino side. I speak english, and i took 4 years of Spanish (but forgot all the words... lol). I am going to visit the P.I. for the first time next year, so i want to learn some Tagalog. Not just to learn tagalog for my visit, but i will keep trying to learn it after, too. i am dedicated to become fluent in it.. is there anyway suggestions?

i was born in the phillippines but raised her in Cali. my mom she is flipino but she deosnt really teach me that much. but i heard that there is this cd u put in your pc called the Rosetta Stone and it teaches u tagalog. im going to get that and i heard it works really good. I understand tagalog but dont knoe how to speak it itz kinda weird. But just get Rosetta Stone. You should google it. i think itz awsome. and if u cant find that. there are books store that you can buy books on tagalog words.im going there on saturday nd i might get a book on tagalog and read it on the long plane ride . Watch a lot of Filipino movies and TV shows. Ask your parents and Filipino friends to talk to you in Filipino as much as possible. A friend improved her Filipino by reading Tagalog comics aloud. Filipino is really easy to learn, but only if you practice. Many foreigners have lived in the Philippines for decades but never learned the language because they could get by just fine with English. So you’ll be fine when you visit actually. If you really want to learn Filipino, you just have to comit to it.

There’s a satellite Filipino channel that you can watch like ABS-CBN. Most of the programs are in Tagalog. Watch it for you to familiarize the words as well as the usage.
