I want to learn to speak fluent Tagalog?
I'm actually Filipino but I was born in the United States. My first language was English and it has been my only language. My entire family speaks Tagalog except for me, and they always speak Tagalog to me. I am able to understand but I cannot pronounce the words or make a complete sentence. Is it possible for me to learn to speak Tagalog fluently? I am currently 14.

How is that even possible? (that you can’t pronounce the words) If you understand you should be able to try and speak back to them. Imitate the sounds and whatnot. I’m in the same situation as you (except Vietnamese) and I can speak Vietnamese because I hear it all the time. Take classes if you’re struggling. But the best way to learn is from your family and speaking with them.
Not unless you really make a dedication to totally immerse yourself in Tagalog.
i think that it is absolutely possible. i know how to speak kapampangan and tagalog, but it was my first language. i have a cousin who was just like you, english was her first language. she only knew how to understand until her teens and then she actually tried to speak tagalog properly at about your age. first of all, she actually tried to converse with our family. she said a lot of stuff wrong, but she learned through trial and error. second, she tried to immerse herself in tagalog. she watched the filipino channel, and she only spoke tagalog with her parents. now, she mostly speaks tagalog with her parents. the hardest thing for her was all of the sounds in tagalog. some of the sounds are very difficult, like the "ng" sound. you really have to practice all of the sounds. memorize the filipino alphabet and pronounce everything properly. the last thing, she kept a diary and she tried to write in the language as well. so you definitely have to try really hard.
I’m in the exact same situation except Tagalog would be my third language, It’s possible if you ask your family for help, maybe do some research on pronounciation, all you need is some dedication to it. Good Luck, Suwerte!
You may want to check out Tagalog websites so you can find translations for sentences and their correct pronunciation.

But since your entire family speaks Tagalog, you may want to practice your Tagalog with them. Tell them that they’re only supposed to talk to you in Tagalog and you have to answer in Tagalog, too.
Kaya mo ‘yan! (You can do it.)
sure u can! as long as u willing to learn by hard!
