I bought a Tagalog learning software
talking to my parents in Tagalog..
I guess you have to do it day in and day out to get it within a few months.. I haven’t been doing it all the time, but I’m trying.
I guess if u study in the Philippines in a year, I’ll be able to get it.. If you look at SAM milby, he can speak Tagalog now,, but it’s sounds funny.
Living here in the US, you have to try to live, breath and sleep the language. It’s hard for me, mahirap talaga, but I guess if you are super committed, you can get it within a few months or so, maybe, I’m not sure, so far for me i been learning for about 6 months and I can’t understand and speak a lot more than I used to. Before I was just like "whatever dude" Kahit ano.

How long? An intensive course could make you speak the language in 2-3 months. You can enrol in a class or buy the program (Internet learning) or you can buy the tape.
If you will be in the Philippines for one year to study, I can almost guarantee you’d learn our language. It’s one of the easiest languages in the world to speak.
Meanwhile here in the States, try to watch Pilipino DVDs or watch Pinoy TV shows. There’s nothing like looking at the action while words are spoken…and, watch our commercials too.
And yeah, keep on chatting with your Pinoy on-line friends. And don’t be afraid to ask them "what does that mean". Or you can always come back in this site and ask us. We’ll be here for you.
If lyou love the culture you will learn it the easy way.Don’t try too hard of speaking them,we prefer foreigners to speak English anyway because we easily understood them than making the Filipino language funny and horrible at the same time.
One can learn Tagalog in three months. The best way of learning any language is to converse with people who speak the language, but since you are not acquainted with any one who knows the best option is to get hold of a language learning kit. I suggest "Conversational Tagalog" by Filipino author Rufino Alejandro. You can purchase it online at http://www.nationalbookstore.com, or you can purchase "Teach Yourself Tagalog" at Barnes and Noble. You will definitely learn how to speak Tagalog if you’ll stay in the Philippines for a year. That is, if you will stay in the Greater Manila Area and neighboring towns. People in the provinces have their own dialects and prefer to use them in daily interactions. Reading Tagalog comics and watching shows in Tagalog can also help. Subscribing to The Filipino Channel if it’s available in your area will expose you to the language. Have fun learning!
have a filipino friends online.
its good to learn tagalog, but dont let your wife know your learning. let her keep talking about you with her friends. thats what you call "getting ammunition". anyway, theres no need to learn tagalog, they all speak english. I know just enough cebuano and tagalog to catch the basis of what my wifes talking about.
