french pronunciation?
how to pronounce the letter combination in french...
ESPECIALLY THE VOWEL COMBINATION "AI"
several books says its "EY" others says "EH"
moreover on the pronunciation of
EST.. is it "eh"
ET .. is it "ey"
EST-CE-QUE.. "esk?"
my books were both published in London... because the pronunciation guide there state the following:
AI as in day... i think they pronounce it as day with less letter "y" AM I RIGHT? im so confused...
please help me... i'm a filipino learning french...

you are right, "ai" is pronounced like the "a" in day.
"et" like the "e" in red, "est" like the "e" in help
"est-ce-que" is "esk" like in desk when it’s followed by a vowel like: est ce qu’ il y a? but if you want to pronounce the last "e" like in "est ce que tu veux" it is "eske" and the last "e" is pronounced almost like "e" in angel
