Filipino parents opda Pilipins, do you talk openly of sex with your young ones?
Or do you take the religious, puritanical route and ignore it until your teenage daughters come home all knocked up?

nice question. i am not yet a parent just an adult, but i do have a teenage sister. my inay started to be open to her about sex when she had her first bf. wow! at 15years old, my mom told her to use condom para hindi mabuntis. i was so shocked. and it blew my head off!
As Filipino parents you need to orient and talk openly to your kids about sex the moment they become curious about their sexuality. It should be explained in a simplest manner as innocent mind can understand.
My parents took the puritanical route, but I didn’t get knocked up before it was the right time.
That said, I do answer "sex" questions WHEN ASKED by the young ones… But I have never initiated "the birds and the bees" talk with anyone younger than 16.
Hope that helps.
when my kids started learning about reproduction in school, i slowly introduced them about sex. I told them that sex is not something you can experiment with. I don’t want them to think sex with malice.
I believed that baby in the storck basket story til’ I was 18 years old!
I feel so betrayed.
Oh, the humanity!!!
well my daughter is only five, but i quite anticipate the time when she does ask, and i will be perfectly ready and excited to refer her to her mom.
OW may gad, hir cams da great GRO agen,
our parents discussed sex with us when we noticed changes in our body…
I guess young people should be introduced to it, when they’re ready to understand it, what matters is how well you explain.
