Very familiar, I lost my job because I was asleep while on duty guarding the gates of Troy on that fateful night. Good thing the Greek who saw my sleeping figure thought I was dead and left me where I lay.
Not very familiar. All I remember is a wooden horse and some stupid gate guards.
Of course very familiar,we have World literature in high school and college.
plus the movie TROY was box office hit in Phil when it was shown here.
Well, I migrated to the US for the sole purpose of the seek for knowledge and education…

Oh I know very well. I saw Brad Pitt and he’s good in fighting but the sad things is, he died. peaze bro!
Very familiar, even before the movie was shown.
Read a summary back in grade school. I can even remember the pictures.
Read the whole story in high school, world literature along with Oedipus Rex, Shakespeare’s works, Beowulf, excerpts from Mahabharata etc.
Very familiar. I remember reading Homer in grade school. Also in high school. i also reread the bunch in college.
We studied about Iliad and Odyssey in World Literature subject when I was in third year college in the Philippines. So, I pretty much know about Eris, who produced the apple at the wedding feast, bearing the label "To the fairest", which caused the goddesses to fight over it, and Paris, who was bribed to choose Athena as the fairest… therefore getting Helen as the reward, and brought her to Troy… which angered Menelaus, Agamemnon, etc., etc… and how they all went to Troy to retrieve Helen.. how they fought for days and nights, camped at the shore with soothsayers and all sorts of superstitions to help them… until Odysseus masterminded a plan to construct a giant wooden horse, as a peace offering to the Trojans in pretense, and while the Trojans believed it and partied till they got drunk, Odysseus and his team crept out of the horse and aided their allies in entering the city and destroying everything. And of course, after that, Odysseus offended Poseidon, who made him wander in the seas, with all sorts of adventure from the cyclops, the sirens, scylla and charybdis, etc, as revenge… while Penelope faithfully waited for his return for 20 years, weaving a project and telling suitors, who were convinced that Odysseus is dead, that she will choose among them only when her project is done (but it was never finished, since she would undo during the night what she did during the day…on purpose to buy her time while waiting for Odysseus).
