Philippines Tagalog Archives

Learing Tagalog (Filipino language). I have repeatedly tried to learn, but I never make it past Chapter 2. I have used a language book and the Rosetta Stone program. I just get bored of it. Now I'm a little more commited to be like my people with our language.

Any tips to keep the learning in your mind? I'm in my late adolescent ages, is it harder to learn a new language at this age? Going to be my second language. Any tips on learning the language pronounciation and how to write other than the basic steps of learning a lanuage?
Salamat po (Thank you)

I'm taking a filipino language class in college (my boyfriends family is filipino) and I'm making a gift but want to sign it I love you in filipino at the end.. something we haven't covered in class yet..

On one website it used the words Mahal and kita -- which, I looked up kita and it said something about earnings or wages.. I don't want his family to pick it up and read that I love his wages or something incorrect.. can someone help?
hah, well do you have any other phrases I could use?

such as.. i miss you.. stay amazing (inside joke we have) i don't know.. random things? that way I could write the whole letter in filipino..

I've heard my aunts and uncles and my parents talk about this all the time. They say, "Wala siyang delicadesa." What does it mean? i looked up the Spanish meaning, and they say delicadesa is a delicacy. So what is delicadesa for Filipinos? Thanks.
sorry. i misspelled delicadeza.

hey i'm just getting the basics down of tagalog and i'm wondering what verbs are most commonly used in everyday talk. please show me some verbs in tagalog and their english translation. thank you!
pinoy pride!

I'm trying to search, but I don't see much, its no good..........=(
I'm trying to learn it, cause i live in the Philippines, and i have to go to school there..

It can be the language or the nationality. It just has to be your personal meaning, or how you define it.
Also, can you indicate what your current occupation is, and if you are part of a group, let's say like a band or a bible study group, something like that.

The Filipino boxer's English is too good to be true. Everybody in the Phils. knows Filipino boxers barely graduate high school and has a shitty English....the "allegedly" Filipino boxer also mentioned Pacman injects it in his UPPER QUADRANT. Haha. No Filipino boxer would know that medically specific term, least to speak a decent English. Even native speakers would not typically use "upper quadrant" in a statement as most don't know what that means....it's obviously to make that bogus rumor believable. LOL.

Assuming it's translated....the translated version still would hardly equate a Filipino language version without changing much of the English version the way it was delivered. LOL.

They don't. I dont know American born filipino under the age of 25 that speaks tagalog and I have many filipino friends.
Im sorry I didnt make it more clear, this question applies to AMERICAN-FILIPINOS only
