Are there still Pinoy authors who write stories in Filipino? Do read any books in Filipino? If so, which ones?
When I mean stories, I mean from novels down to the short stories....
I want to know if there are still people out there who write and read books in Filipino... I want to read Filipino books to widen my Filipino vocabulary so that I can write a story in Filipino.... I've always found Filipino ... (its so indescribable!!!)..... sweeter than English....
Correction: Do you read any Filipino books?

Yes I still read Filipino books. I read books from Nick Joaquin and the likes. I am recently hooked to Bob Ong for his funny observations of our way of life. There are a lot of budding writers from the PI using the Filipino medium.
Now if you want to widen your Filipino vocabulary, i suggest you read the Pinoy romance novels. Easy to understand and some storyline are actually enjoyable.
You can check out the Philippines publications and Phil. Lit & Fiction from National Bookstore to keep you updated with recent novels:

No I don’t read any of them, but there are millions floating around – the 1/4 inch romance novels. They get passed from person to person until they fall apart.
Depending on what country you live in, most have a place called little Manila or some such thing. It’s near a Catholic church, and has filipino food, books and other goodies. They may be only open on a weekend or Sunday, but it’s worth it.
We spend several months of every year in the Czech republic, and because there are very few filipinas there, she usually takes along about 25 books. After reading them, she tried to leave them for others at the Philippine embassy, but they said no because of the few OFWs there so… off to the basura with them.
Yeah there’s is some authors but I’m not fun reading it.
Filipinos had no written language.
"The woman with two navels" by Nick Joaquin is a great novel. It’s quite inspirational actually. Its my book report in literature class..
