how different is it from people who speak Chinese in the Philippines? or from people who speak english here? or Russians in egypt? or French in Canada? or Spanish in America? Or Indians speaking english? come on, it only sounds funny because you aren’t used to it. back in high school, my laungage was different from those of my classmates, they sounded funny…kinda like a singsong. but i got used to it. if you’re uncomfortable speaking tagalog, then don’t. or if you do, try it with friends in private and eventually in public. hey, it’s nice to learn other people’s culture.
yeah, someone said "he’s choking, quick, the heimlich maneuver" and then we’re like dude, chill, he’s talkin’ his talk, man!
it was awesome!
I don’t think there’s something wrong with tagalog. I know a lot of Filipinos and all of them are professional and educated, they know how to act at the right way and speak english fluently but when i heard them talking in their native language it’s sounds good. As long as you don’t shout it out like other foreign languages it will be alright. Be proud of your own language but be humble enough and other people will look up to you.
I had filipino friends back in Texas and I heard them use it among themselves. I don’t recall thinking that it sounded strange.
