It's for research paper. I considered the argument of Filipino being the national language since not everyone really agrees but when I got to the abstract draft, I don't know what to write....so ideas?

This is an entirely different topic I’d like to suggest —
What can be done to stop confusing Tagalog (a dialect) with Filipino (the national language)? Seems like even the average Filipino seems to regard the two as one and the same, so what more the foreigners. If we are to really keep the flame of patriotism burning, shouldn’t we at least be able to distinguish between the two?

Forget about the abstract draft and concentrate on improving this abstract question first. You will only be getting abstract answers for these kinds of questions. By the way, Tagalog is the national language of the Philippines.
