I'm thinking of taking it in college and I'm not sure whether to or not. Has anybody taken it before or does anybody know how to speak it? Is it difficult to learn?

when you speak filipino or tagalog...what's another easy language you can learn in an american school..?
I was told one answer, but I want to make sure it's right. Thank you.
Well, I'm half Filipino (on my mom's side, of course) and my dad is an American. And every time her and one of her sisters or one of her Filipino friends talk on the phone, she talks so loud! And while we're at Wal mart, she talks so loud in her native language, people keep staring at her in the store. I just wonder why Filipinos talk so loud on the phone.
"I hope you are having a good week, Matthew. I love you and think of you always."
thanks!
I'm writing a story for English class and I decided that I want to write about a Filipino FOB. The problem is, I don't know where to start - when the Filipino goes on the boat to America, or when he gets there and looks for a job?
What kinds of problems could the Filipino face that could serve as the rising and climax of the story? Any creative ideas?

1. Will someone explain how early and under what conditions different people are likely to begin using English in the RP?
2. How would you attribute levels of proficiency in English: Urban living, economic opportunity, media exposure?
3. If any answers come from the internet cafe' perhaps you might answer for your more agrarian brethren.

I'm not sure exactly what specifically I might want to read but I do want to read accounts of filipino americans who discuss how it was difficult socially to grow up in america and perhaps why they like or didn't like their upbringing with traditional filipino parents among other family conflicts that happen being 1st generation americans of filipino descent.
