My mom's side almost all of them virtually live in Northern Mindanao and around Cebu. I'm a Filipino-American and I'm not sure which I should learn. My mom knows Visayan, Tagalog, and something else.

can someone teach me how 2 speak tagalog or know a program that can help me learn how 2 speak tagalog?

Please i need it. My teacher gave us a project on making a Card for Parents Day this coming Friday. We were asked to pass it tomorrow. I don't have any idea on what to say.

It seems kinda weird that there is Chinese, and Japanese for community college language classes, but why don't I see more variety? I am interested in taking Korean and some Tagalog (most of my friends from work are from the Philipines) but those languages are not offered and I am too broke to go to the Language Door place to learn them. (up to 0 bucks to learn just one language!).

how do you say these phrases in Tagalog?:

-"Don't do that, then!"
-"So?"
-"When I grow up...."
-"Until now,...."
-"What does it look like I'm doing?!"

Thanks.

I'm Filipino, and both of my parents are Filipino. Both of my parents can speak Tagalog fluently. How can I learn to be a Tagalog speaker too? Should I ask my parents to teach me? (But would they know how to teach me?)

Thanks.

Hello, I need to write a stand showing some languages. And I need to write Tagalog .. but I am wondering how do I actually write the word "Tagalog" in tagalog. for example Japanese word in japanese is 日本語(nihongo), or Portuguese word in portuguese is Português. Thanks

I have encountered two Filipino people who have told me that to them it is an unsult to hear a White Foreigner trying to speak Tagalog to them. To me this sounds ridiculous because Filipino people speak so many languages abroad- they quickly learn Spanish and Arabic and German and French and speak those well and no one thinks that way about them.
Frankly, I have never heard anything more preposterous in my life.
Why are they saying that and is it an insult to you, too?

what are some great books for learning all about the language tagalog?

i have bunch of filipino friend and i would like to get into coversations you know!

I see that in sites about the Philippines, they use Pilipino, but my family and everyone from the Philippines speaks Tagalog. Is Pilipino reffering to all the languages and dialects of the Philippines?

i can be your tutor. Tagalog is the Filipino language while Cebuano is the language in most of the Visayan provinces. I can teach you how to speak some tagalog or cebuano languages.

Do the filipino people, have a language called Filipino?

If they speak some other language please include that in your answer.

I'm moving to Iloilo from the States and I want to learn tagalog is there a tagalog language school there ? and how much does it cost to attend ?

Do you believe in the merits of that idiomatic expression? Why?

What are the projects/contributions of Pres. Corazon Aquino to enrich the Filipino Language

Trying to learn tagalog or bisaya. Are there any good language courses out there? I have tried one that was pretty expensive, but turned out to be mostly worthless. Also need something that includes CDs so I will learn to pronounce correctly. The one I have includes CDs, but the people talking are not speaking it correctly, (as I found when I went there). Salamat po. Paalam na!

does anyone know what "mutya" means?

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

I viewed some Philippine TV programs and commercials on youtube and was amazed at many people speaking Tagalog with bits of English words and phrases mixed in it. Of course, I know those are the official languages of the Philippines. Why is that so common?

*For me, the Philippine government do not pay attention with regards to the distribution of Philippine literature in the country. Why?

* We all know that Philippine literature helps a lot to raise our national language. How?

*Nowadays, Filipino language is being snobbed by Filipinos themselves because they weren't able to use it especially to those educated people. Why?

*Some Filipinos are also fond of reading materials which are written in English rather than in FIlipino. Why?

*Before, some Filipinos patronizes the Philippine literature, but now, they do not want to read more of it & spend their time with it. Why?
