pls. give the Filipino term and also the meaning of the english word.......

except for boondocks, cooties, cogon, abaca, ylang-ylang, manila, capiz, yo-yo

hey, can someone translate this to English for me?

"gusto ko mg halikan yong bungaga mo!"

I think I know the gist of it, but a translation would be good. haha.

also, fyi, it may not be a perfectly accurate line of Tagalog. the person who wrote it wasn't using reference and isn't a native speaker. thanks!
excuse me. that should be "ng" not "mg".

In American schools, is Tagalog a language option/subject?

My wife is a filipina and I would like to learn tagalog. Rosetta Stone is too expensive. Does anybody know of any other learning programs that are cheaper and still good?

I'm fluent in Tagalog; however, I am also interested in other Filipino dialects. Which one would be the most practical and useful to learn next to Tagalog?
Not my usual Q's, but I'm dead serious about this and I'm up for the task. lol =)
@ Denixce P. Vanity
Yes there are. Though a suggestion would've sufficed =)
@ Bondying:
Nicoleta, is that you?
or GRO? lol

I want to move to the Philippines and make it my home for a while

We are missionaries in the Philippines and need to learn Tagalog at our own pace, but we need the most up to date and thorough course. If you know of one or of some websites that would really help us

Is there a website where I can find the Filipino translation of a word?

I have seen Tagalog commonly referred to a Filipino.

Why is that, and which term is more correct?
Typo:

I have seen Tagalog referred to commonly AS Filipino, not a. Sorry 'bout that.
Wow, thanks guys!

In taiwan, if you can't/don't speak mandarin, more or less you're looked down upon...
In Japan, if you can't/don't speak japanese, more or less you're looked down upon...
but how come in the Philippines...If you can't/don't speak tagalog(and other filipino languages)...you're looked up upon?

Help very much appreciated :/ .
It's for research paper. I considered the argument of Filipino being the national language since not everyone really agrees but when I got to the abstract draft, I don't know what to write....so ideas?

If I sing a filipino song, I can sing the high and loud notes without losing my voice but when I sing english songs, I lose my voice when I go higher or louder?

Will the language people speak sound like this in a decade:

Just wondering, I figured that since the countries have such a related language and close geography, they would. And I am wondering for the reason are there a lot of OFWs(Overseas filipino workers) there?

my question was reported and was also denied when i appealed this, i posted my question in the philippine language, tagalog and it was reported, the category i used was travel, philippines meant for filipino answerers. the question was, "bakit mahirap pa rin hanggang ngayon ang pilipinas"
i have posted a question already in filipino and it was reported, when i made an appeal, they rejected it and deducted 10 pts. from me

yeah, how come tagalog is the national language of the philippines.?when the visayas and mindanao and also part of palawan speak a language similar to cebuano....no offense:)

Or do you take the religious, puritanical route and ignore it until your teenage daughters come home all knocked up?

Could someone please give me a poem with 12 syllables per line,
5 stanzas, 4 lines per stanza about trust and in tagalog? Even 1 stanza would be enough.
Thank you.

I knwo i lvoe you is Mahal Kita. Just intersted in how to you say it with "so much" / How to write it. Thank you.

This is from a quiz that they pass around on email. I've answered all but the last few which are those below. In paranthesis are some of the words I already tried:

1. Alternate (not kapalit etc...)
2. Approach (not lapit)
3. calf (not binti)
4. erase (not bura)
5. gerund
6. pronoun
7. sewerage

Thanks! So far my score is 93 of 100.
Panghalip is right!
Anak ng baka didn't work though.
Bisiro is correct!!! All other answers so far misses.
Bravo TRANQUIL. Correct are:
sewerage= alkantarilya
erase= pawi
approach= dulog

Any pointers on this would be of great help. I am in the midst of lots of filipinos and I want to explain a recipe to them.

Thanks in advance,
Seeker

I was born in the Philippines but I have been in the states since I was 2 or 3. I did not learn the language. My biological mother and sister are still there, and I would very much like to learn the language so I can speak with them more. Is there anyone who can help me. Im finding this very hard to do on my own.

Either language is fine. Just teach me how to say the basic everyday things. It would be good if you taught me how to speak a couple of sentences just so I can communicate better with my grandparents and my family members in the Philippines.

Well, I know I can just search over on the internet but what I really want is a personal tutor that can teach me how to speak Filipino.

I have a fillipino girl that I want to send a message to in her language, so I want to know the proper way to tell her "I want to hold you and kiss you gently"

How do i say I love this language in Tagalog Filipino?
